
Milan, 4 September 2019 – The 2019 edition of Sana, which will be held at BolognaFiere from Friday 6 to Monday 9 September, will also involve VENDITALIA, the most important international event of Automatic Distribution, organized by Venditalia Servizi and promoted by CONFIDA – Italian Association of Automatic Distribution, which represents the different product sectors of the entire automatic distribution chain.
VENDITALIA, which will be scheduled at fieramilano – Rho from 20 to 23 May 2020, will have an area within the SANA Food section (Pav. 29 – Stand C05), the new area of the event dedicated to the entire range of organic and natural foods that the market has to offer, and to the latest innovations and evolving natural trends. It will also be a place dedicated to meetings with professional operators – large retailers, specialized retailers, H&R and international buyers.
The world of vending machines is increasingly looking carefully at organic products. The latest Confida industry study, carried out in collaboration with Accenture, showed that in Italy, at the end of last year, the number of 822,175 vending machines in offices and public places was reached. The data show how the consumer is increasingly aware and demanding and how he/she is progressively orienting his/her choices towards products that are organic, with less sugar, cultivated at zero km and fresh, where possible. The sector has therefore focused its attention on the quality of products offered through vending machines, starting with beverages. Nectars and 100% fruit juices now represent 4% of the total products present in the vending machines; a share of approximately 2.5 million containers sold.
Increasing appreciation for organic beverages that are worth 1.5% at total volumes of cold drinks (excluding water): + 75% consumption of juices and + 22% of cold tea. Low-sugar beverages are now 4.4% of the total cold drinks and mainly fruit drinks accelerate sales: + 72% compared to 2017. In 2018, vegan drinks also reached 1% of sales.
The data on fresh and dried fruit are also interesting. The fruit packets sold last year were close to 3 million and seven hundred thousand with a year-on-year progression of 8.8%. The long wave of dried fruit continues: +12.8%. Yogurt decreases (-5.8%), but over 5 million pieces are sold. Finally, organic and gluten free snacks are also growing. Organic snacks, especially savory ones, confirm the positive trend of the previous year, thus registering a + 25% compared to 2017, although they still represent 0.5% of all those sold. Those gluten free increase by 15% in volumes, under the pressure of biscuits (+ 24% in volumes in 2018).
The presence at Sana is part of a promotion path of the event that will be also present at Anuga, Host, Ecomondo, Sigep and Biofach. VENDITALIA at Sana will also be an opportunity for the presentation of the new image, on air already through the website
